Funding Focus: Holiday Meals & Year Round Support

To celebrate the season of sharing, Northshore Food Bank is grateful for the many ways our community came together this year to support neighbors facing food insecurity. Thanks to generous community donations, partners, and grant support, families, children, and seniors across St. Tammany Parish had access to food when they needed it most.

This fall, that support was especially visible through Northshore Food Bank’s Holiday Meal Program. Families received everything needed to prepare a Thanksgiving meal at home, and support from Renasant Community Foundation and Lockheed Martin helped make it possible to serve hundreds of families during the holiday season.

That care continues well beyond the holidays. Northshore Food Bank’s Kids Weekend Food Program provides children facing food insecurity with kid-friendly food items to take home over the weekend when school meals are unavailable. Contributions from Whole Foods Market and the Donahue Favret Contractors Driving FORE Charity Fund are among the supporters helping sustain this program throughout the school year.

In response to ongoing SNAP benefit reductions, funding from the Greater New Orleans Foundation has helped Northshore Food Bank meet rising emergency food needs across our community. We are also grateful for the continued support of the PIG Charity Golf Tournament and the Professional Landmen’s Association of New Orleans Golf Tournament, whose annual events help strengthen multiple food assistance programs year after year.

We are sincerely thankful for every partner, donor, and community supporter who stood with Northshore Food Bank this year. Together, your support allows us to meet immediate needs while providing reliable access to food for families, children, and seniors throughout the year.
