Each year, we distribute over 1 million pounds of food to the residents of the Northshore. As the amount of food leaving our doors continues to increase, we are in need of support from the community to supplement these resources and defer the cost of food we need to purchase.
Whether it’s a can of vegetables from your pantry, a trailer full of watermelons from your farm, or a truckload of cereal from your retail grocery store, your donation goes directly to the tables of hungry families in our Northshore community.
Donation Hours
Food donation hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 9a-12p at our Community Donations door, facing W 29th Ave. Enter the back gate (29th Ave) make an immediate left and park in front of the Community Donations garage door.
No expired, open, or glass items please.
For questions about donations, food drives, or food drop offs, contact Sarah Herndon, Development Associate, at sherndon@northshorefoodbank.org or 985.893.7445
Individuals
One third of the food we receive comes from individual donations and community food drives. We encourage and appreciate any individual and/or community food drive donations as these make a significant impact on our ability to serve our participants.
Farmers
Some of the most nutritious food we receive comes from our local farmers. To learn about donating large quantities of produce give us please reach to us using information below.
Food Industry
Are you a member of the food industry? Whether you have a specific donation in mind or just a question, we’d love to hear from you. Our goal is to help you help those in need.
No Time To Organize a Drive? Host a Virtual Drive!
A virtual food drive is better than a traditional food drive because we have access to wholesale purchasing and large scale donations. Better yet, you don’t need to collect and store canned goods. Simply host an online fundraiser for food purchases here.
