Northshore Food Bank is grateful to have received three recent grants that will help to expand our reach, strengthen vital programs, and continue serving families on the Northshore. Thank you to Chevron, Impact 59 Powered by Entergy- the Super Bowl LIX Legacy Program, and St. Tammany Parish Government for their generosity and support!
Chevron: Over a Decade of Commitment to Fighting Hunger
Chevron has been a partner of Northshore Food Bank for more than a decade, offering grants, volunteer hours, hosting food drives, and even an employee matching gift program. Since 2013, Chevron’s support has strengthened multiple areas of the Food Bank’s operations, including senior food assistance, fueling our box truck, fresh produce distribution, the staple box program, disaster and emergency response, and also sponsoring key fundraising and community events.
Chevron employees also give back through hands-on volunteerism, assisting in our warehouse, resale shop, and event preparation. We are incredibly grateful for their continued partnership in fighting food insecurity on the Northshore.
Impact 59 Powered by Entergy: Tackling Childhood Hunger
Northshore Food Bank is proud to be one of the 65 nonprofits selected for a grant through the Super Bowl LIX Legacy Program—Impact 59 Powered by Entergy! This funding will directly benefit our Kids Weekend Food Program, which provides participating students at seven Title I elementary schools in St. Tammany Parish with easy-to-open food items when they are missing their school meals over the weekend.
St. Tammany Parish Government: Expanding Food Access in Slidell
Northshore Food Bank remains committed to ensuring families in all St. Tammany Parish have access to reliable food assistance. Because of support received from the St. Tammany Parish Government, Northshore Food Bank can continue operating our satellite distribution at Good Samaritan Ministry at St. Luke Catholic Church in Slidell- reaching more families in need and strengthening our presence in the community.
Since launching in spring 2024, the Slidell distribution site has provided over 1,400 food boxes, offering much needed relief to residents facing hardship. Among the 510 individuals served, 27% are seniors, many of whom struggle to afford groceries on fixed incomes. This grant ensures that Northshore Food Bank can sustain and expand our efforts in Slidell, Pearl River, and Lacombe, allowing more families to receive the support they need.
Northshore Food Bank is grateful to Chevron, Impact 59 Powered by Entergy, and St. Tammany Parish Government for their commitment to fighting food insecurity on the Northshore. Their generosity ensures food assistance for our neighbors in need.
Together, we are creating a stronger, more food-secure community.
