Meet Ivan, our cheerful greeter and cashier who's been part of the Northshore Food Bank Resale Shop family for four years. A Covington High graduate, Ivan is known for being "the money guy" at the Resale Shop, as his main role is to affably check out and greet customers. His favorite part of the job? Chatting with shoppers and making new friends—some of whom pop in just to say hi!
Ivan's favorite finds include speakers to play music and plush toys for his younger cousins. He’s also seen some pretty unique items, like an old can of Coca-Cola from 1972 (which he couldn’t resist tasting!) and a few creepy dolls he swears are “possessed.” But for Ivan, the best part of working at the Resale Shop is knowing that every sale supports Northshore Food Bank’s mission to help those in need.
One of Ivan’s proudest moments came when a customer named her son after him. Now, little Ivan, age 2, loves visiting the shop to say hello to his namesake. Ivan’s kindness, dedication, and love for the community shine through every day—just another reason we’re grateful to have him on the team!
Next time you find yourself hunting for treasure or finding a deal at the Resale Shop, make sure you tell Ivan hello!
