Northshore Food Bank in Covington has launched a holiday celebration as part of the organization’s 40th anniversary on May 21st, 2024. Forty fresh, 6-7’ foot Christmas trees have been installed, sponsored and decorated at the Covington Trailhead by various businesses and community organizations as part of “Christmas Tree Kickoff” that “kicks off” the Food Bank’s 40th year.
The Christmas trees display, sponsored by Kingdom ROI and St Tammany Health System, is a way to bring joy, excitement, and awareness to the community about the food bank and its impact on fighting food insecurity on the Northshore.
“We are very excited to have brought this new Christmas tree experience to downtown Covington in honor of Northshore Food Bank’s upcoming 40th anniversary,” says Yvette Roussel, CEO. “Each tree sponsor is a friend of the food bank – a business partner, organization or collaborator – who has had an impact on not only our organization over the last 40 years, but the Northshore community and our collective mission to fight food insecurity. We are so thrilled with how creatively each tree is decorated representing each sponsor perfectly. The trees definitely bring joy and light to the trailhead for the holiday season. The trees are featured as part of the City of Covington’s 12 Days of Christmas as stop number 8. Decorated Trees will be available to view until January 2nd. There is no charge to view them, so hurry on by and see them!
